Boca Raton, Florida
This Institute is offered in South Florida and also via live webinar for students who cannot travel to South Palm Beach County. Modern Institutes for Sex Therapy Training is continuing the curriculum of the Florida Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute since the demise of its beloved founder and mentor, Dr. Susan Lee, in April 2015. That program has trained hundreds of postgraduate professionals to use the title “Sex Therapist” for over twenty years. The 120 CE Credit hours program fulfills the Florida requirements for sex therapist certification, and includes 20 hours of sex therapy clinical case supervision.
The Florida Institute meets one Thursday a month for one year in Boca Raton and is directed by Richard Siegel, LMHC, CST. We are proud to offer our Florida Institute online via live webinar. (Recordings are available for review after each class, but students are expected to attend and participate in each class live).
There are 12 classes which meet 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Our next Florida Institute will begin on January 14, 2016 and run through December 9, 2016.
Mr. Siegel will be joined by locally and nationally renowned experts who will bring the most current information on human sexuality research and treatment of sexual dysfunction to this series of programs.
Some comments from former supervisees:
Having had many supervisors through out my career, I believe I can speak accurately about the supervisory skills and attributes of Richard Siegel. He demonstrates a rare combination of insight, experience, knowledge of the field, the ability to challenge, and balanced humor. Ricky respectfully upheld my strengths, while carefully weaving in new information, as well as case-specific strategies and goals. I highly recommend him as a supervisor.
- Dr. Karen L. Harding, PsyD, RN, Clinical Psychologist & Psychiatric Nurse Specialist
Ricky's talents are multidimensional. His ability to communicate complex mental/medical health issues are exemplary. I have observed his skills to present explanations of highly abstract and psychological paradigms in a manner that makes sense in a simple everyday understanding reflective of a strong comprehension of the paradigm's tenets.
- Dr. C. David Lee, Ph.D., CST, Psychologist, Certified Sex Therapist
Ricky has provided AASECT sex therapy supervision for me over the past 18 months [in 2013]. He has helped me to move from the neutered social work mindset to that of a more effective sex therapist. His supervision has taught me many more psychotherapy techniques, as well as helped me learn more about the biology of sex. I also attended one of his trainings a few years back. His training helped me to learn some basics of sex therapy and make the decision that I wanted to be a sex therapist.
- Buck Black, LCSW, LCAC, CST, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Sex Therapist
I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to study under Ricky. His knowledge and insight have taught me so much about practicing as a sex therapist. His teaching style always kept me engaged and wanting to learn more. The passion he has for the field of sexuality is evident in all he does, and I highly recommend him!
- Lindsay Walden, MA, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Sex Therapist
